چکیده

An Li metal anode has been proposed as a promising candidate for high energy density electrode material. However, the direct use of can lead to uncontrollable dendrite growth and massive volume expansion, which generates severe safety hazards hinders practical application. Herein, we developed novel by thermal infusion into three-dimensional (3D) carbon cloth (CC) modified with lithiophilic CuO nanorod arrays (denoted Li@CuO−CC). The 3D CC offers sufficient space storage adequate electrolyte/electrode contact fast charge transfer. uniformly distributed improve lithiophilicity redistribute Li-ion flux on substrate, leading uniform stripping/plating behavior. As result, Li@CuO−CC exhibits dendrite-free feature superior cycling performance over 1000 h low overpotential (12 mV) at current 1 mA cm−2 in symmetrical cell without significant fluctuations. When coupled an LiFePO4 cathode, full displays specific capacity (133.8 mAh g−1 C), outstanding rate performance, cycle stability (78.7% retention after 600 cycles C). This work opens new approach development construction advanced batteries.

Efficient solar photoelectrosynthesis of methanol from carbon dioxide using hybrid CuO-Cu2O semiconductor nanorod arrays.

Solar photoelectrosynthesis of methanol was driven on hybrid CuO-Cu(2)O semiconductor nanorod arrays for the first time at potentials ~800 mV below the thermodynamic threshold value and at Faradaic efficiencies up to ~95%. The CuO-Cu(2)O nanorod arrays were prepared on Cu substrates by a two-step approach consisting of the initial thermal growth of CuO nanorods followed by controlled electrodep...

A “cation-anion regulation” synergistic anode host for dendrite-free lithium metal batteries

Dendritic Li deposition has been "a Gordian knot" for almost half a century, which significantly hinders the practical use of high-energy lithium metal batteries (LMBs). The underlying mechanisms of this dendrite formation are related to the preferential lithium deposition on the tips of the protuberances of the anode surface and also associated with the concentration gradient or even depletion...

Metal-insulator-metal nanorod arrays for subwavelength imaging.

We proposed using metal-insulator-metal (MIM) nanorod arrays for subwavelength imaging to improve the resolution based on the notable ability of field confinement of the MIM nanorods. The field distribution of a single Au-SiO(2)-Au nanorod, coupling between two nanorods and image transfer of shaped dipole sources through nanorod arrays were investigated by using the finite-difference time-domai...

Three-Dimensional SnS Decorated Carbon Nano-Networks as Anode Materials for Lithium and Sodium Ion Batteries

The three-dimensional (3D) SnS decorated carbon nano-networks (SnS@C) were synthesized via a facile two-step method of freeze-drying combined with post-heat treatment. The lithium and sodium storage performances of above composites acting as anode materials were investigated. As anode materials for lithium ion batteries, a high reversible capacity of 780 mAh·g-1 for SnS@C composites can be obta...

Lithium-coated polymeric matrix as a minimum volume-change and dendrite-free lithium metal anode

Lithium metal is the ideal anode for the next generation of high-energy-density batteries. Nevertheless, dendrite growth, side reactions and infinite relative volume change have prevented it from practical applications. Here, we demonstrate a promising metallic lithium anode design by infusing molten lithium into a polymeric matrix. The electrospun polyimide employed is stable against highly re...
